I think a big part of multiplayers games dying is knowing you’ll never play with your friends again. I’m getting to the point in my life where the people I would play everything with… no longer play anything. It’s weird being able to remember the last time I’ve seen someone. They’re not gone for good but the past and all the memories definitely are. Maybe one day we’ll all get together and play something new

For me it's destiny I was in love with it since the d1 beta, I used to do raid night in the weekend for kingsfall. But then d2 came, sunsetting came, destiny content vault, they brought black spindle in d2 like d1 then patched the same way. They gave us dmt a scout rifle that can stand up to to any handcannon and killed it because it was a counter to handcannons. Every weapon that overshadows handcannons is patched remember breakneck with onslaught a perk that increases rate of fire of a weapon but also lowers it's per shot damage why? Also hawkmoon and dmt missions were amazing content but they took them out of the game. Then they removed sunsetting from all armors and weapons after we deleted them. They made the season pass a pay to win scheme with high stat armor and harmonize rs upgrade materials, destiny stands on 4 legs the latest expansion vanguard strikes crucible and gambit. Gambit and the crucible they will never fix and farming strikes gets boring everyday. It's just sad how they deliberately ruined the game it wasn't perfect but it was fun now it's nothing. Bungie is a factory of sadness.

There are a lot of deleted mobile games. But if you have downloaded them you keep them, when you delete them it’s impossible to ever play again. I still have a lot of these games from my youth, they have been deleted for years…. I think the biggest examples are the angry birds games

Back before Minecraft 1.16, if you went below the bedrock, your screen would turn pitch black. This was TERRIFYING to me, and even now I think it'd freak me out. Really gave a feeling of "you're not supposed to be here. LEAVE."

I loved TLOU2 bc the story wasn’t typical fan service. Obviously that’s not the sole reason but I was initially apprehensive bc I didn’t want to play as Abby. But as the game went on, I ended up loving the angle they took. Execution was perfect but i really enjoyed it

I agree that classic PUBG is dead, but I've started playing again and it's actually pretty fun still with squads. Definitely not what i remember, but i refuse to play Apex or fortnite, so it's my niche I guess.

I personally quit Warframe after about 150 hours. Steam data shows very few players make it to 100 hours, and millions of players quit after 2 hours. I found something lifeless and corrupted about the core game design and MTX system. Although some elements of the game are solid, I couldn't keep playing. It felt like I was being controlled or was trapped inside a casino. I know many people don't feel this way, but I don't trust most of them, as they have 500 or even 4,000 hours of time into that game. This tells me they are extremely biased, maybe even addicted (certainly, suffering from a problem of identity and sunk cost fallacy). Regardless, this is something worth studying deeper, for sure.

Replay value is not as strong with video games compared to movies, though you made valid points. There is a reason you can watch certain movies for 40 years. You cannot do the same with many video games. Why? Because you're getting something new out of movies, which is more important. I believe Martin Scorsese once said, 'movies don't change, we do'. However, what happens here is you find something new within the movies, at the level of story and values. This is rarer with video games, as the stories and themes are not as strong or well-defined. Some video games don't even have much to offer beyond the gameplay itself. Of course, one time of replay value for video games is found in the core gameplay loop. Some games can be enjoyed many times, despite the fact nothing changes. You do the exact same thing, the exact same way. This is also worth studying at some point. And, it leads directly into the fundamental elements and mechanics of game design. A great thing to study is Crash Bandicoot 1, since it has almost everything you need in one game. It's a simple source with endless insight at every level of analysis. Super Mario Bros. is another good example, though there are dozens of others.

Id say Battleborn should also be up there. As well as some old facebook games like Miscrits.

Essentially boiling down to, it isn't technically Petscop because it's a recreation. Like, something about that is so annoying to me. You aren't in the wrong. Like, yes, it won't ever be the same, it doesn't have the same context to fuel its creation, it won't affect people the same way, simply because the orignal Petscop wasn't meant to be played. I just idk man, that rubbed me off in the wrong way and wanted to dissect it even if not in the best way... Anyway, uh, more comments for the algorithm?

You made this 2 years ago, so I don't know why I'm commenting, but every show starts off slow. Every show starts off with goofy adventures and things to show you who the characters are. Rick and Morty does this just like every other show. You posted this video when the series wasn't even halfway done, and it's still not done. You can't say a show doesn't have a good story or theme when it isn't finished.

I think with Depression Quest, it's not the game that hates the player, but the creator, Zoe Quinn. And we all know what she's about... Also, I will always stand by my belief that games like The Line are disgustingly manipulative and self-righteous on the part of the developer. Gaslighting the player into feeling like a piece of shit is the lowest.

A personal take I've heard on the ending is how it protrays the Shakespeare quote: "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts." Which is true now more than ever with the constant desire to get yourself out there on the internet for that small chance of getting praise and popularity, and how said desire can become addictive, making you feel small or unloved like a failure when you can't get it.

Dude after playing through so many excellent games with disappointing or downright terrible endings, I've started a spreadsheet of games I've completed and marked how good or bad their ending is. Just in case I get sucked back in years later wanting to do a replay and don't want to be let down again.
